Description


We require the Head of Business Development to lead and oversee the development and growth of profitable new business and to develop and maintain key company and partnership relationships. This position will be responsible for all aspects of managing and motivating a future business development team. This position will also ensure profitable growth through directing and managing business development activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy.

Essential Job Functions: 

  • Develop a comprehensive strategic and tactical plan to achieve annual revenue and profitability goals
  • Identify, pursue and negotiate new channel relationships, strategic partnerships, and target key industry segments for growth and expansion
  • Business development/prospecting for new opportunities; qualification of leads, conducting sales presentations, identification and closing sales opportunities
  • Identify and measure the key metrics that indicate the level of success of Partner & Channel programs.
  • Develops relationships internally and externally to support and build multiple sales channels as well as develop key alliances externally to drive improved revenue performance
  • Sole accountability for business growth with new target markets
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of the company's vision and strategy.
  • Support the overall process of management and decision making to ensure the organization maximizes its short, medium and long-term profitability.
  • Write contracts with new partners.
  • Impact the profitability of the company through ensuring strategic and tactical management decisions and new business development results.
  • Competitor and market analysis
  • Acquiring, managing and implementing new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Ensure efficient and effective promotional planning via the marketing department
  • Develop a presentation and strategy specific to any new business partnership or opportunity worth pursuing
  • Develop and maintain long lasting relationships within our industry as well as outside our industry.
  • Communicate our company culture, values and reputation to new partners and businesses.
  • Review, analyze and negotiate contract terms with new business and partner entities.

 

Required Skills and Experience: 

  • 4 - 10 yrs demonstrated sales experience in Business Development, Channel Development or Strategic Partnerships
  • The ability to negotiate business deals to completion and enable all parties to succeed both short and long-term.
  • This individual must be a proven closer with an established book of business
  • Advanced strategic selling skills including cold calls, networking, target marketing, managing sales cycle, and maintaining client relationships
  • Experience in leveraging sales to key decision-makers at the C and VP level
  • Ability to operate and make decisions in a complex environment
  • Ability to operate and lead independently
  • Self-motivated, competitive and goal oriented
