Web Developers will update existing and create new applications for web-based, proprietary enterprise systems and eCommerce websites. Developers will help management in the development and planning of systems requirements, data structures, project parameters, deliverable specifications, and code base for high level functions. This position will report the Programming Manager, work independently and collaboratively with other programming team members and lead programming projects. Developers will craft and code inventive solutions to address business needs to grow Improvement Direct's web properties.

Essential Job Functions

• Ability to code in ColdFusion, Java, JavaScript, CSS and HTML
• Design, tune, and write queries for new and existing data structures
• Aware of security protocols (XSS, SQL Injection)
• Ability to write clean and modular code
• Convert project specifications into functional flow charts
• Write easy to follow documentation for future updates and upgrades
• Provide technical consultations with department leads on strategic software development
• Lead technical components of web development projects from conception to launch
• Work with industry professionals and vendors to implement and develop best practices
• Develop internal and recommend external training for programming and operations staff
• Comfort with juggling multiple large and complex projects under deadline

Required Skills and Experience:

• 4-6 yrs Programming Experience
• Portfolio and past work demonstrating knowledge of web development practices
• Experience of creating data structures and writing SQL queries

Recommended Skills and and Experience:

• Experience with systems development, database architecture, SQL management software
• Experience with XML or equivalent EDI Integration
• Experience with Frameworks (Coldbox, Coldspring, Fusebox, Mach II, Model Glue, Reactor)
• Experience with CfEclipse, E-text, or TextMate editors and FTP software
• Experience with Gforge or similar project management software
• Experience with Flash ActionScript
